Behind the Musical Timeline And Creative Process of Bathing in Wonder – A very special artist’s note
Bathing in Wonder is an experimental guitar composition written and performed by Scott Ibex in Quebec, Canada during the winter of 2015. It was recorded in 432Hz, the pitch at which the universe resonates. The unique creative process behind this album was inspired by a study in musical memory. In fact, the album was conceived by examining guitar motifs recorded upon Scott's phone over the course of four years. Musical themes which returned in full or partial form after a year or more of not being played were chosen to explore more deeply and eventually crafted into the overall 36 minute composition. Once the guitar was tracked, bathing in wonder blossomed into a true neo-classical epoch when Tamara Frieda improvised various accompanying and solo violins. A year later, in 2016, the album was revisited by Scott Ibex and sound engineer, Antoine Dufour in Canada. The finishing touches of the production were prepared by Mr. Ibex and mix engineer Mark Freezer. All the gratitude in the world to Tamara, Antoine, Mark, and John Houston. Extra special thanks to Sasha Moon for her wonderful cover painting and M. Hallberg for digital layout extraordinaire. I could not have made this art without your helpful, wonderful, collaborative hearts. - Scott Ibex
